DAMASCUS: Thirty-five people were killed, and 30 others were injured on Saturday in a traffic accident on the Damascus-Deir Ezzor road.
The accident occurred when two buses collided in the area between Al-Sukhna and Palmyra on the Deir Ezzor-Damascus highway.
The Ministry of Defense dispatched several helicopters for the medical evacuation of the injured and the victims to the Homs Military Hospital.
The Ministry of Interior stated on its official platforms that ambulance teams and authorities rushed to the scene, where efforts were underway to transport the injured and evacuate the victims.
Dr. Najeeb Al-Naasan, director of the Ambulance and Emergency Department at the Ministry of Health, said that the toll had reached 35 deaths and 30 injuries so far.
