EXCLUSIVE: A tourist on a delayed EasyJet flight has claimed he and fellow passengers were given 'no food or water' and left to sleep outside by staff at Tivat Airport in Montenegro14:49, 25 Jul 2026A desperate EasyJet customer claims he and his fellow passengers they have been left with "no food and water" after being stranded at an airport.‌Dr Ron Roberts, 70, complained to the Mirror that the budget airline has in his view, "abandoned" travellers at Montenegro's Tivat Airport for over 24 hours without food, water, accommodation, or any EasyJet staff around to help - and said that "suffocating" overcrowding caused a passenger to collapse.‌He had been due to fly back to London Luton at 12:40 yesterday, but remains stuck in the airport this afternoon more than 24 hours on amid what he describes as "absolute chaos".‌Dr Roberts, who is travelling alone after his wife returned from holiday early to visit her sister, told the Mirror he'd got to the airport early, but said the flight was continually delayed and airport staff failed to help passengers or provide information. He claimed: "It was absolute chaos. They wouldn't do anything. They left people without food or water."The retired psychology lecturer claimed he and other passengers from the delayed flight were "forced to sleep in the street" after airport staff told them to find their own hotels for the night when the airport was closing. He complained: "We were all thrown out of the airport. They said you've got to go and... you've got to go and arrange your own accommodation and travel. Even though they'd already told us there's no free accommodation in the area. I said it's not possible to do that."‌Dr Roberts that he returned to the airport when it reopened, but as of this afternoon he and his fellow travellers remain stuck in a corridor near departures as they wait for details on their flight home.To add to the misery, Dr Roberts claimed hungry passengers were being told that they will not be able to re-enter the airport if they go to the café next door - the only place they can buy food. He said the partner of someone in the same corridor "went out to get something - and they won't let him back in."‌Dr Roberts warned that the situation had deteriorated overnight from being uncomfortable to "dangerously unhealthy" - and said he had witnessed a man fainting in the corridor this morning.He said: "I'm an old Liverpool fan, if you imagine trying to get into the Kop in the 1960s or 70s, the entire airport is like that... It's rammed, suffocating, you can't breathe here. It is dangerously unhealthy. And nobody cares."‌"My health is getting endangered, I called the doctor this morning. The guy down there is just told us he's on stage four cancer, he's fainted. They called medical staff and they will not do anything. There's no law here, it is I am not exaggerating, it's completely lawless."Dr Roberts said in his view the airline had showed a "complete contempt for passengers" throughout their time in the airport, claiming: "They're not interested - it's as if people's health are expendable."A spokesperson for EasyJet told the Mirror: "Flight EZY2638 from Tivat to London Luton yesterday was delayed overnight due to the aircraft experiencing a bird strike on a previous flight. Unfortunately, the flight has been delayed departing today due to air traffic control restrictions.Article continues below"We have been doing all possible to minimise the impact of the disruption and while we always look to secure hotel accommodation, as there was very limited availability, we advised customers they would be reimbursed for booking they own. While this was outside of our control, we are very sorry for the difficulty this caused."Our customers' safety and wellbeing is our highest priority and we are looking into the experience in the airport with our ground handling provider at Tivat, as this is not the level of support we expect for our customers."A Foreign Office spokesperson said they are "in contact with the local authorities" about the situation at the airport.
