The iconic stadium has been undergoing major work for almost three years and the emergency services were called to the stadium. His death has led to an investigation.‌Work at the stadium began in June 2023 and is expected to be completed in early 2028, as Barcelona look to bolster their capacity to 105,000 - making it one of the largest grounds in the world.‌The club put out a statement following the tragedy which read: "FC Barcelona deeply regrets the death of the worker who lost his life yesterday in the workplace accident that occurred during the renovation works at Spotify Camp Nou. The club wishes to express its deepest condolences and extend its heartfelt support to his family, friends, and colleagues."FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta wishes to personally convey his condolences to the family and places himself at their disposal on behalf of the entire club."Barcelona's rivals, Real Madrid, have revamped the Bernabeu over the past decade, making it one of the most iconic and aesthetically impressive stadiums in the world. The overall project is set to cost around £1.1billion.Since moving back to the Nou Camp, Barcelona have won every single home game in La Liga.
