Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that cleanliness, beautification and planned urban development of Gurugram are among the state government's highest priorities.Chairing a meeting in Gurugram, he directed officers of all construction agencies and concerned departments to ensure that Construction and Demolition waste is disposed of only at designated sites and in accordance with scientific norms.A total of 15 grievances were taken up during the meeting, of which 13 were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued to keep two cases pending until the next meeting. Saini asked the concerned officers to submit status reports on the pending cases in the next meeting.Emphasising the prompt resolution of complaints received through the CM Window, Saini said that he personally reviews complaints lodged on the portal regularly and directed all officers to deal with every complaint seriously, impartially and within the prescribed timeline.He warned that any negligence, indifference or mala fide conduct on the part of officers would invite strict action.During the meeting, members of the Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) from Wazirpur Enclave in the Municipal Corporation Manesar area highlighted several civic issues before him, informing that despite the colony being regularised by the government, it continued to face shortages of basic amenities.They also sought strengthening of the power infrastructure and enhancement of electricity load in view of the increasing population.Taking serious note of the grievances, Saini directed officers of the concerned departments to conduct a joint survey of the colony and ensure that the issues are resolved on priority.Members of an RWA from Sector-83 informed the chief minister that a builder was disconnecting electricity connections of residents who had not paid maintenance charges. They said such actions were causing unnecessary hardship to families.Acting on it, Saini directed the concerned authorities to ensure that no builder resorts to disconnecting electricity supply to any residence for the recovery of maintenance charges. He warned that any builder found indulging in such arbitrary practices would face strict action in accordance with the law.A complainant from Sector-102 informed the Chief Minister that a builder was dumping Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste in the open, leading to violations of environmental norms.Following this, Saini directed officers to ensure that within a month, no C and D waste is found dumped in the open anywhere in Gurugram and that notices be issued to builders violating the rules, penalties imposed as per the law, and an effective mechanism be put in place to prevent recurrence of such violations.
