GNPAs position improved to 2.10 per cent of gross advances as at June-end 2026 against 2.47 per cent as at June-end 2025

AU Small Finance Bank reported a 37 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in first quarter (Q1FY27) net profit at ₹796 crore against ₹581 crore in the year ago period on the back of a healthy growth in net interest income and decline in provisions.The Jaipur-headquartered Bank, which received RBI’s in-principle approval in August 2025 for transitioning into a universal bank, logged a 32 per cent growth in net interest income (difference between interest earned and interest expended) at ₹2,695 crore ( ₹2,045 crore in the year ago period/Q1FY26).Other income, including fee-based income, treasury income and recovery in written-off accounts, declined 15 per cent y-o-y to ₹689 crore ( ₹811 crore).Net interest margin (NIM) rose to 5.9 per cent in Q1FY27 from 5.4 per cent in the year ago quarter, but declined a shade from 6 per cent level in Q4FY26.Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPAs) position improved to 2.10 per cent of gross advances as at June-end 2026 against 2.47 per cent as at June-end 2025. Net NPAs position too improved to 0.76 per cent of net advances against 0.88 per cent.Gross loan portfolio increased 23 per cent y-o-y to ₹1,44,250 crore as at June-end 2026, with secured businesses (retail + commercial) and unsecured businesses growing 25 per cent and 11 per cent, respectively.Deposits rose 24 per cent y-o-y to stand at ₹1,57,727 crore as at June-end 2026. Low-cost CASA (current account, savings account) deposits continue at 29 per cent of deposits.Meanwhile, Yogesh Jain, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer, has been elevated as Deputy CEO of the Bank with effect from July 25, 2026.Published on July 25, 2026
