Delhi Police is closely monitoring social media to identify fake and misleading posts related to the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar, a senior officer said on Saturday.Addressing a press conference, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Rohit Rajbir Singh said several false narratives were being circulated online to create panic and mislead people.He cited a fake claim about the death of a woman police officer during the July 20 protest and another post by a political figure alleging that security forces were preparing for a night crackdown on protesters.Some fake posts originated from Pakistan-based accounts, he added.The Delhi Police has constituted a Special Task Force (STF) within its Crime Branch to investigate paper leaks and other exam-related offences.Published on July 25, 2026
