WestBridge Capital is exploring options for its stake in Star Health & Allied Insurance Co., including a sale, amid interest from potential buyers, according to people familiar with the matter.The private equity firm is speaking with financial advisers to help evaluate a sale of its 40% stake in the Chennai-based company, the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private. Other buyout firms and industry players have shown preliminary interest in buying the stake, the people said.Star Health shares have gained almost 30% this year, giving it a market value of $3.5 billion.Considerations are at an early stage and no final decisions have been made, the people said, adding that Westbridge could choose not to pursue a deal.A representative for WestBridge declined to comment.
