SainyamPUNE: Sainyam Vij missed the gold by just 0.2 points as she shrugged off multiple challenges from Olympic medallists, the world No. 1, her teammate and two local shooters at the ISSF World Cup in Hangzhou, China, on Friday. The Chandigarh girl clinched silver in the women’s 10m air pistol category after finishing behind reigning World No. 1 and World Champion shooter Qianxun Yao of China in the final.Sainyam scored 243.4 in the final, while Yao shot to gold with 243.6, while the bronze went to Iran’s Haniyeh Rostamiyan, who scored 221.On her way to the silver, Sainyam left Paris Games gold medallist Yejin Oh of Korea (8th), Tokyo Games double medallist Ranxin Jiang of China (5th) and her teammate Suruchi Phogat (7th) behind.“It was a good medal to win. I was not thinking about the field. For me the field was neither tough nor weak as I was focused on my own shooting,” Sainyam told TOI after winning the medal.
