In a statement posted on his Truth Social account, Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping had assured him during their recent meeting in Beijing that China would not supply or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
United States President, Donald Trump, has warned China and Russia against providing military support to Iran, saying any such move would be "very bad for them" and "certainly not in their best interests."
In a statement posted on his Truth Social account, Trump said Chinese President Xi Jinping had assured him during their recent meeting in Beijing that China would not supply or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"President Xi, at our recent meeting in Beijing, China, told me that he would not, under any circumstances, give or sell Weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran — And that statement included Chinese Companies," Trump wrote.
"Considering our relationship, I take him at his word and, besides, I am doing him very big favors, also."
