The Nigerian military has reportedly killed at least 15 suspected fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in an intelligence-driven airstrike operation in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation was carried out in the early hours of July 21 after security agencies received credible intelligence on the movement and location of suspected terrorists around KLA Balia in Marte LGA, according to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert.
