Amidst the U.S. outbreak of cyclosporiasis, Toronto Public Health says 82 cases have been reported to the city since May, after the city had zero to that point in 2026. However, the agency adds that rise is not unusual.
The increase is “consistent with the seasonal pattern observed in recent years, with cases typically increasing during the summer months (mid-May through August),” said a media representative from Toronto Public Health in an email.
