Soldiers of the 3rd Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cleared a forest area where Russian units had been hiding for a long time, enabling Ukrainian forces to establish a foothold in a previously inaccessible area.

According to Ukrinform, the Special Operations Forces command reported this on Telegram and released a video of the operation.

“Soldiers of the 3rd Regiment of the Special Operations Forces cleared a forest area where enemy units had been hiding for a long time and had been preventing our friendly forces from establishing a foothold,” the statement reads.

The command noted that the mission's difficulty lay in the dense vegetation and the area's mining. Because of this, aerial reconnaissance and other attempts by friendly units to locate the enemy had been unsuccessful for a long time.

“Our special forces had to employ all their skills in overcoming obstacles, navigating the terrain, and camouflage to pinpoint the enemy’s exact location and relay the coordinates to the pilots of the combat UAVs,” the soldiers added.
