The senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, has denied allegations that he received ransom money or negotiated ransom payments with terrorists on behalf of the government.
Ndume, who made the clarification on Friday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, declared that he had never seen N1bn in cash in his life.
The senator was responding to allegations by the President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, Samaila Kaigama, linking him to ransom negotiations involving abducted residents of Ngoshe in Borno State.
Kaigama, in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, had accused Ndume of diverting part of the ransom money meant to secure the freedom of the abducted residents of Ngoshe.
