The practice session took place in the evening as temperatures in Japan remain over 30 degrees during the day. Mortara was followed by DS Penske’s Maximilian Gunther in second and Andretti’s Jake Dennis in third. He won the first-ever Tokyo E-Prix, held in 2024, and his FP1 performance on Friday reinforces confidence in the driver’s ability to bounce back into form.Andretti’s Jake Dennis claimed the third spot on the podium in the maiden Tokyo E-Prix in 2024. He has been having a good season, with two wins and one more podium, and his FP1 performance hints that he is once again here to dominate in Tokyo.Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein, who is currently leading the championship, finished fourth. He secured a podium in Tokyo last year and, after his Friday performance, once again proved he is here to seal the championship this weekend.Jaguar TCS Racing’s Antonio Felix da Costa finished fifth and Mahindra Racing’s Nyck de Vries finished sixth. Nissan’s Norman Nato was ninth and Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans took tenth place in Tokyo E-Prix FP1.What’s next at the Tokyo E-PrixThe scorching summer in Tokyo has led to the first-ever night double-header in the city. The action will begin post-noon on both days, followed by qualifying at 3:40 pm local time and the races at 8:05 pm local time on both days.This is the penultimate round of Formula E Season 12. It will be followed by the season finale in London next month.
