Paramount on Friday agreed to delay its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery as a lawsuit from a dozen US states seeking to block the deal altogether moves forward.
In a court filing, Paramount said it would pause the $110 billion (€96.69 billion) deal until June 2027.
Friday's agreement is a "significant win because the result is exactly what we have sought from the outset: a direct path to a trial based on the evidence," according to Paramount, which was bought by Skydance last year.
"This is the fastest and clearest way to prove that this transaction is good for competition, good for consumers and good for creators," the company added.
