Prime Minister Robert Fico’s government was pressed on Friday to clarify Slovakia’s role in a coalition supporting Ukraine after a media report, citing French diplomatic confirmation, said the country had joined the initiative.
Fico has strongly rejected claims that Slovakia joined the coalition, saying the country “has not been, is not and will not be” a member.
“I officially declare as prime minister of the Slovak Republic that Slovakia was not, is not and will not be a member of the coalition of the willing,” Fico said in a statement posted on social media.
