VALENCIA CITY—The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of a temporary bypass along the landslide-hit Bukidnon-Davao (Buda) highway in Davao City to restore access for light vehicles and buses while engineers work on a long-term solution.

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon, who inspected the damaged road in Sitio Marahan, Barangay Marilog, on Thursday, said DPWH engineers are finalizing the bypass design, with construction scheduled to begin on Monday.
