The country singer’s hit song, “Choosin’ Texas,” is on the precipice of setting an illustrious record for the most weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for a non-holiday title by a woman with no male-billed acts. And she would be surpassing two of the most legendary woman artists in music if she accomplishes the historic feat.
This week, on the chart dated July 25, “Choosin’ Texas,” which first topped the Hot 100 in February, ties Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” for the most weeks at No. 1 among non-holiday titles by women with no male-billed acts.
