Built Different Trial Academy Trains Next Generation of Elite Plaintiff Trial Lawyers

Built Different Trial Academy, an initiative of the Impossible Case Institute and Trial School, brings together the country's most accomplished trial lawyers and a select group of practicing attorneys and law student scholars for an intensive trial advocacy program.

Built Different Trial Academy was created to develop exceptional trial lawyers through immersive training and mentorship, equipping them with the skills, judgment, and mindset required to handle society's most challenging and consequential cases.

The Academy is an extension of the Impossible Case Institute, a plaintiff’s trial practice focused on pursuing the most complex, high-stakes Personal Injury, Product Liability, Commercial, and Celebrity cases that other attorneys are unwilling or unable to take on.

The 2026 Summer Academy is supported by Trial School, a not-for-profit community offering advocacy training, and will welcome two cohorts. The Built Different Fellows Program is designed for mid-career practicing attorneys committed to elevating their trial advocacy. The Built Different Scholars Program awards scholarships to outstanding law students from across the country who have demonstrated exceptional promise as future trial lawyers. Scholars train alongside faculty, gaining early exposure to trial strategy, advocacy techniques, and mentorship from some of the nation's leading trial lawyers.
