Minister of Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Friday (July 24, 2026) called on parents to utilise the “Talliki Vandanam” financial assistance for their children’s educational future.Addressing parents, teachers, and students at the Mega Parents-Teachers Meeting in Banagalapalle, the Minister announced major infrastructure initiatives and cash rewards for students. “The funds provided under the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme should be safeguarded and utilised exclusively for meeting children’s educational needs. Investments in education will shape individuals’ futures and society’s progress,” he said.Mr. Janardhan Reddy told the students not to take undue mental stress over academics, but study with dedication and interest. “Meaningful learning comes through curiosity, discipline, and perseverance rather than fear or pressure,” he said.Reiterating the coalition government’s resolve for the welfare of the students, he said equal importance was being given to nutritional needs of the students. “As part of this, we have introduced fine-quality rice under the mid-day meal scheme,” he added.The Minister said that ₹8 lakh from his personal funds had been spent on developing the sports ground of the Government High School in Banaganapalle. He urged students to excel in sports at the State and national levels.Responding to the plea of the school authorities, Mr. Reddy announced that two additional classrooms would be constructed for ₹26 lakh. He further announced the allocation of ₹32 lakh for the construction of 14 toilets in government schools in the district, which are expected to be completed within the next three to four months.The Minister also announced cash rewards of ₹5,000 each for six students who participate in cultural activities and ₹2,000 each for 30 meritorious students from Class X and Intermediate.
