The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement advising citizens in countries hosting U.S. forces to maintain a distance of at least 500 metres from areas described as the “covert and residential quarters of U.S. personnel.”
In the statement, the IRGC warned that, should what it termed “U.S. crimes” continue, retaliatory actions against personnel would remain on its agenda. The military entity further claimed that several U.S. officers and troops had left military bases and established a presence in urban residential buildings.
The announcement called on residents across the region to report any new positions or locations of U.S. military personnel through the IRGC Public Relations Department’s official Telegram account or the “Contact Us” portal on its website.
The statement comes amid repeated IRGC claims of strikes on U.S. installations across neighbouring countries, while the United States has similarly issued warnings regarding the presence of civilians near facilities used for military operations.
