July 24 (UPI) -- Paramount Pictures is introducing the new film Ebenezer.
The studio shared a trailer for the movie Thursday featuring Pirates of the Caribbean and Sweeney Todd actor Johnny Depp.
Ebenezer is a reimagining of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol and provides an origin story for Ebenezer Scrooge (Depp), the cantankerous miser who finds redemption in Dickens' novel.
The film's taglines read, "Before he was Scrooge he was... Ebenezer" and "The name you know, the story you don't."
