Dangote Cement Plc has recently selected London over Dubai as its preferred destination for an upcoming international stock listing, with the company aiming to launch trading on the London Stock Exchange as early as September 2026.
The planned secondary listing, which adds London alongside its primary home market on the Nigerian Exchange, aims to broaden global investor participation for Africa’s largest building materials producer, which holds a market valuation of over $11 billion.
By offering shares on a secondary exchange, Dangote Cement will allow international funds across Europe and North America to buy and trade its stock directly in major global currencies, bypassing local currency conversion and settlement hurdles.
While the company previously evaluated multiple venues across Europe and the Middle East, recent regulatory adjustments in the UK have made London a more accessible and efficient option for dual-listed emerging market corporations.
