Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has faulted Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over remarks he made in a viral video while reacting to the recent Ol Kalou by-election.

In a statement issued on via her socials, Waiguru termed the Health CS's comments deeply regrettable, cautioning him against attributing the government's current political challenges to ethnic bias.

“The ethnic profiling remarks made by CS Aden Duale in response to the Ol Kalou by-election are deeply regrettable. It is both overly simplistic and dangerous to reduce the government’s political challenges to tribal prejudice, especially when this very Kikuyu community stood with us so overwhelmingly in the past,” Waiguru stated.

The Kirinyaga governor urged Duale to exercise restraint, noting that his experience in politics and senior position in government demanded greater responsibility. She also called on the Health CS to apologise to residents of the Mt Kenya region over the remarks.
