Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, met Tom Berendsen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in Manila. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting being held in the Philippines’ capital to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.The Ministers expressed their countries’ shared position on the importance of freedom of navigation and continuing efforts to restore the normal and smooth flow of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions or obstacles. They noted that this would support maritime supply chains and the global economy, thus benefiting all countries in the region and serving the interests of all peoples. They affirmed their shared commitment to developing these relations in various commercial and economic fields, particularly ports, transport, logistics and supply services.
