As the 13th night of U.S. military strikes on targets in Iran came to an end, reports emerged early on Friday morning, July 24, of explosions across several provinces. United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had targeted military command centres, drone storage facilities, communication systems, radar networks, and naval infrastructure belonging to the Islamic Republic. Iranian officials reported four deaths and at least seven injuries resulting from the strikes.
CENTCOM stated that its overnight operations, which lasted approximately two hours and 15 minutes, concluded at 4:30 a.m. Iran time. According to the command’s statement, the targets included military command posts, drone storage and maintenance sites, communication networks, radar and coastal surveillance systems, as well as the Islamic Republic’s maritime infrastructure.
United States Central Command reiterated that the objective of these strikes was to degrade threats posed by the Islamic Republic to commercial shipping and civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM also emphasised that the waterway remained open to commercial traffic, with vessels navigating through it with the support of the U.S. military.
