Most people don't think twice about a door handle.
It's one of the most frequently used objects in any home, yet it rarely gets attention until it needs replacing. Recently, I swapped a standard door handle for a vintage-inspired Art Deco lever on rose design, and the difference was surprisingly noticeable.
The change wasn't just visual. Every interaction felt more intentional. The darker finish complemented both modern and classic décor, while the lever design offered a more comfortable grip. It reminded me that the smallest design elements often have the biggest influence on how we experience a space.
As someone who enjoys technology and optimization, I couldn't help drawing a parallel to software development. We often spend hours improving performance by refining small functions, simplifying interfaces, or removing unnecessary complexity. Individually, these changes seem minor, but together they create a significantly better user experience.
Interior design follows the same principle.
