The World Bank will fund civic infrastructure projects of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) to facilitate transition to a circular economy, develop world class facilities for health infrastructure, improve flood resilience and create electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

On Thursday, GCC Commissioner G.S. Sameeran met with a high-level delegation from the World Bank Group to discuss the implementation of key urban, environmental and infrastructure projects in the city with World Bank financial assistance.

The World Bank delegation included Ommid Saberi (Principal Industry Specialist), Nguyen Nhan (Global Operations Lead), and Autif Mohammed Sayyed (Green Building Expert).
