Three people were taken to hospital with burns after the blast.

A gas cylinder explosion at one of Bratislava’s busiest markets has left four people injured, including three who were taken to hospital with burns.

The explosion happened on Thursday morning at a stall at the Miletičova market, a popular open-air market in the Slovak capital.

Emergency services were called after a propane-butane cylinder exploded at around 10:15. Police said the blast was caused by incorrect handling of the gas bottle, according to TV JOJ.

According to witnesses, employees at the stall ran outside after the explosion. One worker then returned to shut off the gas supply but suffered burns while doing so.
