Former President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, unleashed on CNN’s Jake Tapper in an interview that aired Wednesday on “The Don Lemon Show.”The younger Biden called out the journalist in an expletive-filled rant after Lemon asked for his thoughts on the book that Tapper co-authored, “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice To Run Again,” which claims the former president’s aides covered up a decline in Joe Biden’s cognitive and physical health during his ill-fated reelection campaign. “Look, here’s what I’d like to say about that, is I think that Jake is a complete and utter asshole,” Biden told Lemon. “I think that he is a really poor journalist, and beyond that, I don’t think he’s a very decent human being.” Noting that he’s not friends with Tapper but has known him for 25 years, Biden said he’s not interested in placating the journalist like someone in his position as a former president’s son “normally” would. “So, I guess, what normally someone when asked a question like that, like me, is supposed to say is like, ‘Oh, well, you know, here’s how I feel about it.’ I think he’s full of fucking shit. That’s what I think,” he continued. Lemon, a former colleague of Tapper’s, clarified, “You think Jake Tapper’s full of shit?” Biden committed fully to his diss to Tapper, adding, “I think he’s the Brick Tamland of his generation, yeah,” referencing actor Steve Carell’s dim-witted character from the 2004 comedy film “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Hunter Biden (left) and CNN's Jake Tapper have an ongoing feud dating back more than a decade.Getty Images“What Jake espoused and has continued, and the way that he has spoken about me, the way he has spoken about my mother, the way that he has spoken about my father, the idea that I would tell you — and be full of shit like everybody else usually is — and say, ‘Well, you know, I’d like to respect Jake’s long career in journalism and, you know, he’s done good things before.’” Tapper has criticized former first lady Jill Biden, specifically over her public handling of her husband’s health and her claims about Joe Biden’s cognitive state in her memoir “View From the East Wing.”“The most charitable interpretation of Jill Biden’s book, particularly the parts dealing with her husband’s aging, is that she’s having difficulty accepting what’s been happening to him for years,” Tapper wrote when the book was released in June. “The less forgiving version is that she’s been enabling it and is now seeking to try to find an excuse for what we all saw, while also suggesting here and there that there’s much more than maybe even she’s willing to admit to herself.”Tapper has also publicly called into question Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine, saying in a 2019 broadcast that, even if there was no evidence of wrongdoing by his father or himself, it “does stink” that Biden got the contract for a role with a gas company “with no expertise in the energy sector.” Biden bragged to Lemon that he doesn’t have to hedge his true feelings about Tapper because he’s not running for office like his dad. “I’m not running for anything. I’m certainly not running for class president, and I’m not running to be the most popular man on TV,” he declared. “So that’s the way I feel about Jake because I have a real personal grievance with him.” “What would you say to him if you — “ Lemon asked before Biden quickly interjected to say that he would repeat exactly what he had just said. Biden then looked directly at the camera and said, “Jake, I do not like you. I don’t like you at all. And I have a whole host of reasons why and that’s final.” Watch Biden’s appearance on “The Don Lemon Show” below. Skip to the 29:54 mark to hear his comments about Tapper.
