South Korean telecoms firm SK Telecom has launched a new dedicated data center unit.
The company this week announced the launch of SK Hyper, a new company dedicated to AI data center business development.

The new unit is being seeded with an investment of up to KRW 750 billion ($508m) by 2030 and will be a wholly owned subsidiary of SK Telecom.
Chung Suk-geun has been appointed CEO of SK Hyper. He was previously SKT’s Head of the AI CIC (Company-in-Company) and has had roles at Naver, Samsung, and Inicis.
