Infosys has appointed Ashiss Kumar Dash, who is currently the global head of a diverse business portfolio comprising multiple industry verticals, as CEO-designate. Dash will succeed Salil Parekh as the company’s Managing Director and CEO on April 1, 2027, following the completion of the latter’s second term, after over nine years.This appointment is based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Infosys Board, and is for a period of five years, subject to shareholder approval. With his appointment, Dash becomes the third non-promoter CEO in Infosys’ history. Dash is currently the company’s EVP & Global Head - Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy and Enterprise Sustainability. The vertical is Infosys’ third-largest, contributing 13.4 per cent of its overall revenue.Having spent over three decades with Infosys, Dash has held senior leadership roles spanning customer-facing businesses, delivery and global operations across multiple geographies. As the Global Head for a business portfolio that comprises over 12 industry verticals, Dash is helping navigate the digital future for leading Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises.In addition to driving revenue growth, he is also focused on institutionalising innovation, AI-led re-imagination, and the future of work within his teams. Dash is a member of the Board of Directors of Infosys Public Services, which provides next-generation digital services and consulting to public sector organisations in North America, and MRE Consulting LLC, both fully-owned subsidiaries of Infosys. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He has also completed the Global Leadership Program at Stanford University and the Senior Executive Program at London Business School.According to the Board, his strategic and commercial expertise, along with technology delivery experience, will be important as Infosys enters its next phase of AI-led transformationAI differentiationAddressing the media during the company’s Q1FY27 earnings conference on Thursday, Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Board, Infosys, said, “Salil Parekh came at a time when things were slightly unstable. He brought in calmness and focus, took the company from $10 billion to $20 billion (in revenue), completed the transformation for the digital era, and started the AI differentiation and transformation.”Nilekani went on to add, “The new CEO-designate has worked for 31 years in every part of Infosys, be it in delivery, sales, or account management. From October 1, Salil will take him on as his mentee and prepare him to manage a complex $20-billion company at a transformational time.”Dash, who is currently based in Los Angeles, will relocate to India and undergo mentorship over the next two- three months. He also helped set up the Infosys Bhubaneswar Development Centre (DC).
