July 23 (UPI) -- Sony Pictures is gearing up for the release of the new film Resident Evil.
The studio shared a trailer for the movie Thursday featuring Euphoria and Dash & Lily actor Austin Abrams.
Resident Evil is a new reboot of the film series based on the Capcom horror video game franchise. Barbarian and Weapons director Zach Cregger directs the feature.
Abrams, who previously collaborated with Cregger on Weapons, plays Bryan, a medical courier "who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos," an official synopsis reads.
