Donald Trump was slammed and accused on Wednesday of “putting words in the mouths of dead soldiers” who were killed in his Iran war.Trump, ahead of the dignified transfer of four soldiers at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, told reporters:“They are indeed great heroes, actually. They said, and they, all of them said very strongly, ‘We can’t let, we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.’”He added, “They [Iran] won’t have a nuclear weapon, so we’re going to honor them.”Watch the clip here:Critics condemned Trump’s claim that the fallen troops totally backed his controversial conflict as “disgusting,” “shameful” and “obscene.”Trump was ripped as “beyond repulsive” and “a very sick individual” and accused of trying to make political gain with the remarks, amid awful polling for him on the conflict that he launched in February. At least 18 U.S. service members have died in the war.🚨THIS IS DISGUSTING:Trumps shrugs off the newly killed service men and women in Iran: “All of them said very strongly, ‘We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.’”What a rotten piece of shit. pic.twitter.com/sqj004L9Bp— CALL TO ACTIVISM (@CalltoActivism) July 22, 2026Trump on fallen US troops: "All of them said very strongly, 'We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.'"What a pathetic f’ing liar. pic.twitter.com/eN1UzzAVSl— Small Bites (@small_bites_) July 22, 2026Putting words in the mouths of dead soldiers that were killed because of him. Pure human scum— Matt Hibbs (@mattyhibbs) July 22, 2026This man is beyond repulsive with his comments. What the hell, did they call Trump to actually say that? Probably more like why are we here fighting this war with no end because Israel ordered us to.— Truthhurtssomuch (@SayyadWillie) July 22, 2026It’s disgusting and shameful for the president of the United States to put his words in the mouths of these departed service members. https://t.co/Ja5lpBEth2— Justin Amash (@justinamash) July 22, 2026He is using our dead soldiers for his political gain. Disgusting.— LAC 🇺🇸🦅💙 (@uncommonlyann) July 22, 2026A soldier’s sacrifice is not a campaign prop.— Achilles, son of Peleus (@LiberalAchaean) July 22, 2026Putting words in the mouths of the dead is really inappropriate— Dan Shevenell (@DanShevenell) July 22, 2026They didn't "strongly say" anything, they're dead. What he's actually doing is using their deaths as a talking point to justify a war built on "debunked claims" about Iran's nuclear program. That's not honoring their sacrifice, that's exploiting it.— Human☮🇺🇸🇺🇦🇺🇸🌊 (@4HumanUnity) July 22, 2026They said that? When exactly? After they were killed in his illegal war?— Jo (@JoJoFromJerz) July 22, 2026It's insulting that he makes up words and fake conversations of these soldiers that died in this stupid, self inflicted war. I pray no more brave soldiers die. God bless their souls.— Jo321 (@lulu258bam) July 22, 2026Just the scummiest person in the world. Should be banned from dignified transfers unless the families of the dead request his presence. https://t.co/fmJzCWr9sb— Brian Beutler (@brianbeutler) July 22, 2026It’s impossible to tell on any given day whether #Trump 🤡 is gravely psychopathic, truly psychotic, or perhaps both. It’s a GD sad statement on anyone that still supports this feckless, criminal buffoon. Hate the left if you so choose, but WAKE UP!— Ted Collins (@tedfcollins) July 23, 2026
