Eakin Howard / Getty ImagesJuly 23, 2026 9:01 am EDT Updated CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers and Bank of America have extended their naming rights agreement for a 30-year-old stadium that is in the midst of a major renovation.BoA and the Panthers on Thursday announced a long-term extension for one of the NFL’s longest-running naming right partnerships.“For over three decades, Bank of America Stadium has helped create lasting memories for our fans and we’re excited for them to see what’s ahead,” Panthers owner David Tepper said in a release. “Our goal is to create experiences that enhance the passion and energy of the region while transforming this corridor into a weekend destination for world-class sports, entertainment and community events.”
To that end, Tepper is kicking in an additional $500 million toward the renovation and related projects, including a 4,400-seat, indoor music venue that he plans to build next to the stadium.The city of Charlotte in 2024 agreed to fund $650 million of the $800 million stadium renovation. The concert venue and additional stadium upgrades will increase the total project cost to $1.3 billion, according to Tepper Sports & Entertainment. TSE also is responsible for maintenance obligations and potential overages.Work is underway on the team’s new field house that was part of the original renovation plans. Tepper said he hopes the Atrium-sponsored indoor facility, which includes a 100-yard field, will be done by the spring.The stadium renovations include:• A “social patio” in the 500 level that spans the length of one end zone in the upper bowl.• Other fan gathering areas inside and outside the stadium.• Larger and more dynamic scoreboards.• Updates to the locker room and Panthers’ offices.• A redesigned press box.Construction of the front-facing improvements is scheduled to start in 2027.
