A joint operation by the Mount Ruth Rapid Rail Unit, Transnet, and Ndevana SAPS at Ndevana Location outside Qonce resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of suspected stolen Transnet infrastructure valued at approximately R10 million.
According to Captain Hazel Mqala, a joint operational team executed a search at a scrap metal dealership situated in Ndevana. Upon their arrival, police discovered two male suspects, aged 25 and 35, present at the establishment.
Mqala said: “During the search, Transnet officials positively identified several items belonging to their entity.”
