Donald Trump has made Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords a condition for approving a US-Saudi civil nuclear deal.

The agreement would be limited to civilian use and would prohibit uranium enrichment within the kingdom.

The pact, known as a "123 agreement", still requires congressional approval and includes a bilateral protection agreement underpinning a multibillion-dollar partnership.

Allowing uranium enrichment in Saudi Arabia could bolster Iran's argument for its own nuclear programme and raise regional concerns.
