As the Springboks prepare to clash with the All Blacks no fewer than four times across August and September, former Bok enforcer Bakkies Botha is relishing the upcoming battle against South Africa’s oldest foe.
"No, it’s always special, especially playing the enforcer role and embracing the physical battle side of the game," said Botha. "When you want to measure yourself against the best in the world, it will always be the All Blacks.”
The All Blacks are set to spend an entire month in South Africa for a blockbuster seven-match series, featuring four clashes against United Rugby Championship (URC) franchises—the Stormers, Sharks, Bulls, and Lions—alongside a gruelling three-Test series against the Springboks. The two powerhouse nations will then lock horns once more on neutral ground in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of an initiative to expand rugby's global footprint.
Botha emphasised that having the Kiwis tour South Africa brings a renewed wave of excitement to the sport.
