Amira Mahomed 21-year-old Amira Mahomed to represent Emeris at the Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition
A passion for debating that began in high school has taken 21-year-old Amira Mahomed all the way to one of Africa's most prestigious student law competitions.
The third-year Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student from Emeris Durban North will represent the institution at the 2026 Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, taking place at the Institut Universitaire d'Abidjan in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from July 26 to August 2.
Mahomed is the first LLB student from Emeris Durban North to be selected for the competition after achieving the highest marks in the institution's national Moot Court selection process.
She will represent Emeris alongside fellow third-year LLB student Martinique Mulder from Emeris Pretoria.
