Uttar Pradesh has cemented its position as India’s leading electronics manufacturing hub, playing a pivotal role in the country’s rise as a global technology powerhouse. Anchored by Noida and Greater Noida, the state now accounts for nearly 65% of India’s mobile phone production, with global brands such as Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, and LG operating alongside leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) including Dixon Technologies, Optiemus, Padget Electronics, Zetwerk (Zettown), and Bhagwati Products (Micromax).The state has also emerged as the backbone of India’s electronics components ecosystem, contributing around 55% of the country’s component manufacturing. Companies such as Samsung, Holitech, KHY, Khvatec, Minda Corporation, JWorld, Shinsung C&T, Sunwoda, and Dreamtech manufacture critical components, including PCBAs, displays, and capacitors. Uttar Pradesh is further strengthening its leadership in consumer electronics, with major players like Haier and Panasonic expanding their manufacturing presence.This remarkable growth has been driven by a progressive policy framework. Since the launch of the Electronics Manufacturing Policy, 2017, and new Uttar Pradesh Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy – 2025 (First Amendment) its subsequent amendments in 2020 and 2022, the state has attracted investments worth over ₹28,000 crore from more than 75 companies. Uttar Pradesh has also made a decisive entry into semiconductor manufacturing, securing approved investments of ₹32,146 crore, including the HCL-Foxconn display driver chip plant near Jewar.The state’s export performance reflects this transformation. From negligible electronics exports in 2015, Uttar Pradesh recorded USD 2.58 billion in electronics exports in FY23, accounting for 16.65% of India’s total electronics exports. Mobile devices manufactured in the state continue to make a significant contribution to India’s USD 28.45 billion electronics exports in FY24, while smartphone exports alone reached USD 17.5 billion in FY25, highlighting the sector’s rapid global expansion.Supporting this industrial growth is a robust digital ecosystem. More than 1.85 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) provide over 314 e-governance services, while a rapidly expanding smartphone user base of over 240 million consumers continues to drive domestic demand. Backed by world-class infrastructure, seamless connectivity, strong logistics, and a skilled workforce, Noida has evolved into the nucleus of India’s high-tech manufacturing ecosystem, hosting dedicated clusters for mobile phones, LED TVs, electronics components, consumer electronics, and lithium-ion batteries.The Uttar Pradesh Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy – 2025 and Semiconductor Policy – 2024 are set to turbocharge the state’s electronic, mobile, and chip-making ecosystem. Looking ahead, Uttar Pradesh is accelerating its Industry 4.0 transition with strategic investments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, drones, automation, and advanced electronics. These initiatives will drive innovation, expand global supply chains, and generate large-scale employment, positioning the state as a leader in electronics manufacturing while reinforcing India’s ambition to become a global technology powerhouse.
