United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had completed its twelfth wave of overnight strikes against Islamic Republic military targets early Thursday morning, Tehran time. Concurrently, Iranian media reported explosions across several provinces, including Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Kermanshah.
In an official statement, CENTCOM reported that the latest strikes targeted military bases, missile and drone storage facilities, naval assets, coastal monitoring installations, and air defense systems. The command claimed that the new strikes had further degraded Iran’s ability to threaten commercial and civilian maritime shipping.
The statement added that U.S. forces had struck dozens of military targets inside Iranian territory in recent weeks while resuming the naval blockade of Iranian ports. CENTCOM also disclosed that it had rerouted nine commercial vessels, intercepted one ship, and placed more than 50,000 U.S. service members in the region on high alert.
Meanwhile, Iranian domestic media outlets reported fresh strikes across various regions of the country. Mehr News Agency reported that a U.S. projectile had landed near the Shalamcheh border terminal, killing two people and injuring more than ten others.
