The Patriotic Alliance has hit back at the Democratic Alliance’s planned Public Protector complaint against its leader and Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie.
The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has rubbished the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) planned complaint to the Public Protector against Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie as “nonsense”, saying previous complaints against him had failed and the latest investigation would reach the same outcome.
The DA announced that it will on Thursday, July 23, submit a dossier of evidence to Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka supporting what it described as a full-scale investigation into allegations against McKenzie.
“The allegations in question concern a jobs-for-pals scheme benefitting the Patriotic Alliance, and the misappropriation of nearly R110 million in public money.”
The party said McKenzie’s FIFA World Cup trips would also be referred to as part of the complaint.
