Get ready to lie back and roll down the windows, because the Doggfather is officially heading to cinemas next year.

Universal Pictures has announced that the R-rated biographical film chronicling the rise of gangsta rap icon Snoop Dogg will be released on August 6, 2027.

Marking a monumental shift in Snoop Dogg’s expanding entertainment empire, "Snoop" serves as the inaugural feature film under Death Row Pictures’ massive multi-year partnership with NBCUniversal.

The studio is banking heavily on the success of its previous blockbuster music biopics, such as the $200 million hit "Straight Outta Compton", to tell the authentic, uncensored story of Snoop Dogg's ascent from the streets of Long Beach to global superstardom.
