Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, during the company’s Q2 earnings call, was asked about a merger with Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX).
Elon Musk on the Merger Question
Musk was asked whether Tesla and SpaceX could eventually merge, to which he replied about the two companies’ expanding collaboration. He then deferred any discussion of a potential merger to the company’s legal team.
"Well, as you can tell from all the many collaborations on so many fronts with SpaceX, there’s more and more overlap, especially with Terafab, that’s really going to be a gigantic project," Musk said.
Musk added that an earnings call would not be the right place to discuss the topic, saying "it’s got to be done with the appropriate process."
