Devshayani Ekadashi is one of the most significant Ekadashis in the Hindu calendar and is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. This period, known as Chaturmas, is considered highly sacred and is observed with increased spiritual practices, religious ceremonies and fasting by devotees. Vaishnav devotees observe a day-long fast and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu, seeking prosperity, peace and spiritual growth. The day is regarded as especially auspicious for worship, charity and devotion.Devshayani Ekadashi 2026: Puja rituals Devotees begin the day by waking up early and taking a holy bath. After cleaning the house and the puja area, an idol or image of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna or Laddu Gopal is placed on a wooden platform. A diya lit with desi ghee is offered, along with Tulsi leaves and yellow flowers. Devotees recite the Vishnu Sahasranama and other Vedic hymns while performing the puja.
