WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has invited US financial experts to visit Pakistan and identify bankable projects that could attract investment, an official announcement said on Wednesday.
During his meeting on Tuesday with representatives of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the minister also discussed the possibility of establishing DFC representation in Pakistan and its engagement with future US congressional delegations, according to a statement issued by the Pakistan Embassy in Washington.
Mr Aurangzeb “invited a DFC team to visit Pakistan, identify bankable projects, and work with relevant stakeholders to develop viable business plans,” the statement said.
The minister sought expedited support for priority, private sector-led projects in key sectors, including energy, information technology, infrastructure, minerals, food and agriculture.
