Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers has revealed he is in pain and "shook up" - but has vowed not to let his crowd down.‌The musician, 44, is set to headline the Tramlines Festival in his native Sheffield this weekend. But he has told his followers he is currently in hospital after a "daft" incident.‌Sharing a message on Instagram, Jon wrote: "A little update from me. I had an accident yesterday doing summat [sic] daft on a scooter. It’s my own fault and I feel a bit stupid and embarrassed tbh."‌He went on: "Im just in the hozzy [sic] waiting on whether it’s a cracked rib or not. It’s very painful." But he vowed to make sure he was on the stage come the weekend.He promised his fans: "This weekends gigs @togetheragainfest and @tramlines will go ahead even if I have to dose myself up . Hopefully it’s just a knock."‌But he admitted he might need some extra attention from those at the show. "Might need a cuddle," he said. "Proper shook me up. Feeling a bit blue."Tramlines' official Instagram account promised to look after him during his set. They wrote in the comments section: "Wishing you a speedy recovery! We’ll take good care of ya on Sunday."The news comes after a summer which saw the band become the unofficial England World Cup tune. Their hit Silence Is Talking might be 17 years old, but a revamped version saw Three Lions fans belt it out stateside.‌The crowds enjoyed adding new lyrics to the instrumental of the tune, singing: "Football's coming home again with Thomas Tuchel" to the tune of the melody.Sadly, it wasn't to be, but it left Jon proud of what was happening. Speaking to the Mirror in the build-up to the Mexico fixture, Jon told us: "It's a proud moment, really. To know your art can travel as far as it can, it's just a mad thing."Despite England not getting their hands on the trophy again, Jon still felt music had a big part to play in the rest of the summer and what follows. He added: "Let's try to keep this spirited togetherness beyond the World Cup, because it's a nice feeling.Article continues below"It's a lot better than all being at war with one another, and arguing about religion and politics, and whatever, right?"Everybody being together and just being in a nice place together feels good, right, and we only really have it at Christmas or World Cups, and I think we should try and take that spirit together in us forward a bit, because I think it's a good vibe."Like this story?
