The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra Sector Command, says it arrested no fewer than 121 motorists for committing 214 traffic offences during its ongoing “Operation total compliance” conducted across the state.
The state Sector Commander, Bridget Asekhauno, disclosed this during the enforcement exercise in Awka, on Wednesday.
Asekhauno, represented by the Officer-in-Charge of Motor Vehicle Administration, DCC Gloria Ezeugwu, said the three-day nationwide operation was carried out simultaneously across the corps’ 12 zones.
She explained that the exercise aims to educate motorists on road safety regulations, enforce compliance and curb traffic violations that often result in road crashes.
She pointed out that road safety remained a collective responsibility, adding that motorists and the FRSC must work together to make Nigerian roads safer.
