In news that assures us that we are truly living in one of the worst timelines, Elon Musk has announced on X, the social media platform he owns, that Grok Imagine, the AI generator he owns, will make a "historically accurate" adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey.
You might well ask why if you have had the good fortune to be oblivious to Musk's repeated complaints about Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Well, in February of 2026, Musk used X to declare "Chris Nolan has lost his integrity," because Musk didn't like the casting of Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy. Then, in May, Musk retweeted X posts that criticized the casting of Elliot Page, including posts that misgender the trans actor. Musk also tweeted that month, "Chris Nolan is pissing on Homer’s grave. Disgraceful."

Musk has used the platform he owns to promote the idea that Nolan was casting not for "historical accuracy" of the fictional epic poem, but to appease the Oscars' inclusion standards. Musk was also a vocal part of the "go woke, go broke" online contingent that insisted Nolan's Odyssey would sink at the box office. To put it simply, they were wrong.
