Nineteen-year-old Emma Guggenheimer brings elite training into the national squad.
Promising American alpine skier Emma Guggenheimer will represent Slovakia from the 2026/27 season after switching national allegiance.
Born in Bedford, New York, Guggenheimer attended Green Mountain Valley School, one of America's leading ski academies, before completing a postgraduate programme at France's Apex2100, which prepares young athletes for elite international competition. She also competed for the United States for two seasons.
From the upcoming season, however, she will race under the Slovak flag.
The Slovak Ski Association (ZSL) confirmed that the 19-year-old skier, who has Slovak roots, has officially joined its ranks after her transfer was approved by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).
